Ragdoll Cats and Kittens
From Orchid Ragdolls in Central Maine

The Ragdoll is a pointed cat with blue eyes, the fur is long, non-matting and silky to the touch. They are large boned and can grow to be twenty pounds or better for a male and upwards of twelve pounds for a female. They have a laid-back personality and prefer to be in the company of humans. Ragdolls mature more slowly than the average alley cat and it may take as long as four years for them to reach full maturity and attain their final coat color.

.

It is reported that the name Ragdoll was given to the breed because of their tendency to go limp in the arms of a human.

Ragdoll kittens are born all white and the point colors start to develop over the next three to four days, however, it may take close to three weeks before the true color of the kittens can be certain.
